I’m Ry Hermann, an artist and designer from Baltimore, and a 2025 graduate of USC’s Iovine and Young Academy. I was drawn to art long before I was good at it. Growing up, I admired artists from afar, but there was always something I couldn’t quite grasp when it came to traditional mediums. Everything changed when I discovered digital art in high school and started creating artwork about the media and people I loved. Digital design unlocked a creative voice I didn’t know I had. Since then, visual storytelling has been how I process the world and communicate ideas in a more expressive, visual way.
My work draws inspiration from everywhere: music, fashion, culture, and the in-between moments of everyday life. I’m especially interested in the tension between reality and imagination, and how visual design can bring out emotion, mood, and meaning. Art gives me a way to explore beyond the literal and craft visuals that feel honest, stylized, and deliberate. Whether I’m creating a logo, a poster, or a clothing graphic, I aim to produce work that is thoughtful, engaging, and hints at a deeper narrative.
